Biography or TMI

Paul Kreppel is a multi-award winning actor/director/producer whose acting career began in Boston, following his time at Emerson College, as a member of The Charles Playhouse Children’s Theater Company. He was then a member of Boston’s famed ‘60s improv group The Proposition which brought him to New York where he continued his career with credits including the original NY productions of Godspell, NY Shakespeare Festival’s Agamemnon, Comedy of Errors and Alice in Concert, "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh", My Mother's Italian..., Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and starring in the national tours of Jerome Robbins' Broadway and  as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in Wicked.
His hundreds of television appearances include starring as Sonny Mann in the 80's situation comedy "It's A Living" and credits from “Laverne & Shirley” and “The Love Boat” to “ER” and "That '70's Show!” (as Jackie’s Dad). He can also  be heard as the voice of Apollo Blue in the “The Jetson’s Movie” and voicing various other Hanna-Barbera animated releases.

Paul’s directing/producing credits for television and the stage include  receiving a Tony Award, IRNE Award and Los Angeles Ovation Award for co-producing/directing/conceiving Jay Johnson: The Two And Only!, creating  Six Degrees of Marvin Hamlisch - a star-studded benefit for The Actors Fund, directing Orphaned SOngs for Orphaned Starfish a star studded benefit celebrating the inspiration of Stephen Schwartz, and producing The Big Voice: God Or Merman? with partner Murphy Cross, through their venture WetRock Entertainment. Paul’s other theatre directing credits include the national tour of Godspell, productions of “God Bless You Mr. Rosewater.” “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh”, Old Jews Telling Jokes, Both Barrels, A Good Swift Kick and The All Night Strut.

His television directing credits include "Brotherly Love", "Dave’s World", "Simon", "The Building" and "It’s A Living".

WetRock's  developing theatre projects including "First Kids" - a musical for the whole country,  "Me & Ella" - a valentine to the first lady of song and "Seen" - a mystical and erotic true personal odyssey.

Paul  has served on the governing bodies of Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild and as a delegate to AFTRA’s national convention.

He has also taught UCLA graduate film directing classes in multi-camera and guest lectured  on comedy in film at Johns Hopkins University.

Paul is a proud recipient of the Emerson College Distinguished  Alumni Achievement Award.

Paul is a former Advisor to the White Conference on Youth.  He is currently a board member of Enrichment Works, a not for profit, creating  curriculum based theatre projects for elementary and middle schools. Paul is also a designated Los Angeles County Arts Professional offering professional development workshops and creating study guides for theater pieces in Los Angeles, off and on Broadway, as a way to inspire learning through the arts.
